I am a singer/songwriter from Melbourne, Lissa Jayne. I grew up in Woodend, Victoria and have had a love for music all of my life. I spent much of my childhood performing in singing competitions.
These days I love to write songs, mostly of which are dark in mood and lyrical content. I will be commencing the recording of my first EP in late May. I also peform live around Melbourne and plan to have a launch show for the EP when it is finished!
I’ve also performed at the Prince of Wales in St Kilda a few times over the last year. Supporting the live music scence is very important to me. When I am not performing I enjoy seeing live music at the vast array of live music venues around Melbourne! We are so lucky to live in the Music Capital!
Melbourne based singer-songwriter Lissa Jayne has recently been in the studio starting work on the recording of her debut EP in Preston, Melbourne and is targeting an October release via an official launch show.
Lissa’s interesting collection of haunting and emotive songs include titles such as ‘Find Another Lover’ and ‘Towns that Make you Bizarre.’ On each of the tracks Lissa will be singing pretty and eerie melodies with melancholic and nostalgic lyrics, accompanied by herself on guitar and keyboard player Doug Miers.
Doug joined Lissa on stage recently when Lissa was seen hosting the Aspiring Songwriters night for the Taste of indie Collective at the Prince of Wales Hotel. Since writing a bunch of her own songs over the last couple of years, Lissa has performed live at various venues around Melbourne.
Lissa was born and raised in central Victoria and grew up singing and performing. She has recently been mentored as part of the Push Songs programme undertaken in Brunswick Victoria where she has gained valuable insights into songwriting.
