DUMEBI will be showcasing at its first trade show THE GALLERY by the Igedo Company in Dusseldorf Germany between the 29/01/16 -02/02/16 and will also be 1 of 10 selected designer brands to showcase at The Gallery Platform fashion show on 31/01/16. The Igedo company have been organising trade shows for over 70 years some of the best in the world! This will be a great opportunity for my brand as it gives me the opportunity to present my collections to buyers, Retailers and members of the press from around the world.

My name is Barbara Biosah, I am emerging Fashion Designer from London,UK, currently based between London and Paris, France. Specialising in Luxury & Couture very detailed clothing, Shoes & accessories handmade in Paris using exotic unique unconventional materials and edgy designs.
My concept and aesthetic of DUMEBI is that fashion is limitless, its a blank canvas waiting to be filled. My goal for my collections are to eliminate the use of solidity and the conventional construction of a garment and create something both Artistic and wearable…
Born and raised in London, UK but of Nigerian heritage, I continuously find new ways to embrace both cultures. Nigerian culture is very Flamboyant and Opulent. Its a very expressive nation and fashion is a major way of showing that. So my collections usually consist with a variety of colour, unconventional materials and various dimensions. I am also inspired by all aspects of art, history and other cultures.
I have gained a variety of experience of the fashion industry by having both studied 6 years of Fashion design and undertook several design internships spread out in three major cities (London, New York, Paris) giving me access to a broad knowledge of cultures and the different aspects of each fashion capital which I am using as the imprint of DUMEBI. In that time I’ve had the opportunity to work for great avant-garde designers like Gareth Pugh which has given me great insight of the daily workings and energy put into creating and working for a brand in the very artistic and detailed part of the fashion industry.
Studying my Bachelor degree at Parson the new school for design in New York City, USA then transferring to International Fashion Academy Paris in Paris France where I graduated in June 2014 showcasing my “Beaded Regalia” collection in Paris as part of IFA Graduate fashion show. This collection was also showcased during SS15 Shanghai Fashion week and I was chosen to participate at the China International designers Fashion creation contest 2014 winning the International Memorial award for best International designer….This was the official start of DUMEBI LTD.
I am currently collaborating with great photographers, art directors, makeup artists and other industry professionals producing amazing Editorials for online & print fashion magazines. I like to incorporate a whole foundation of my experience of art, photography, sculpture, textiles etc. into every garment I make. I have very strong technical skills ranging from hand drawing to technical drawings using Illustrator, photoshop and indesign. I’m passionate, easily inspired, innovative and very creative.
I simply love what I do and I desire to make more than just beautiful clothes but to create everlasting experiences…DUMEBI is now on the verge of opening an Atelier/workshop in the heart of Paris and selling my daring creations exclusively to huge department/ Concept stores.
