Uncover the personal and environmental effects of the toxic chemicals found in our everyday cosmetics and personal care products.
Cosmetics and personal care products are probably the last thing we think of when it comes to our health. In fact, most of us don’t consider them at all. Our skin is our largest organ and much of what we put on it gets absorbed into our bloodstream and accumulates in various tissues and organs.
From soap to shampoo to deodorant and toothpaste, people are being exposed to an average of 126 chemicals a day. Scientists are now linking some of these chemicals to serious health effects including cancer, infertility, birth defects, allergies, asthma and more.
The movement toward safer cosmetics is growing and more consumers are catching on. We believe this full feature documentary will create a TIPPING POINT in consumer awareness and give this $250 billion a year industry a healthy makeover!
Prevention is in.
The European Union uses the “precautionary principle” which states that products must be proven safe before they enter the market. The U.S. government does not. We all use personal care products regardless of age, gender, ethnicity and socioeconomic status, and we all deserve to know what’s in them so we can make informed decisions for ourselves and our families.
